Florida Southern College (FSC) supports Lakeland Choral Society by providing rehearsal space and music library access. Dr. Larry Sledge, our Music Director, was Director of Choral Studies at FSC, and our accompanist, Sue Fee, accompanies many FSC choral events and student performances. The choral and orchestral groups of FSC performances with Lakeland Choral Society include the 2008 presentation of Brahms' A German Requiem.

The Bach Festival of Central Florida was first conceived and organized in the fall of 1973 by Moody Chisholm, former conductor of the Ridge Oratorio Society, and Virginia Davidson, then Professor of Music at Polk Community College. The first Bach Festival concert was presented on January 2, 1974, at First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. In March of 2011, the Festival, in collaboration with Florida Southern College, presented Henry Purcell’s Baroque operatic masterpiece, Dido and Aeneas. The parts of 'Dido' and 'Aeneas' were performed by two former recipients of Lakeland Choral Society scholarships.
The Imperial Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is a regional community orchestra of approximately 80 musicians, mostly volunteer. Lakeland Choral Society's performances with the ISO include William Walton's Belshazzar's Feast, with the Southeastern University Concert Chorale and the Florida Southern College Chorale.
The Lake Wales Chorale is part of the Lake Wales Arts Council. The Chorale has joined Lakeland Choral Society in performances, including the 2007 Imperial Symphony Orchestra's Home for the Holidays.

Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is a nonprofit music-education organization whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research, and teaching. In addition, ACDA strives through arts advocacy to elevate choral music's position in American society.
Evolved from Choralist, the first email distribution list for choral music, ChoralNet is the professional networking site for the global online choral community. The site hosts forums, resources, and information about choral organizations and choirs within the choral world. Become part of the ChoralNet community by registering, joining online discussions, and receiving email updates. ChoralNet is operated by the ACDA.
ChorusAmerica's mission is to build a dynamic and inclusive choral community so that more people are transformed by the beauty and power of choral singing. Lakeland Choral Society is one of over 650 members nationally.
The mission of the Polk Arts Alliance is to cultivate an environment in which the arts flourish. The Alliance endeavors to accomplish this through advocacy, coordination, economic development, education and promotion. The Art-i-facts quarterly magazine is freely distributed throughout Polk County. Lakeland Choral Society is a Cultural Arts Council member organization.

2011 is the sesquicentennial celebration of Polk County. Organizations throughout the county are asked to commemorate this special occassion by hosting events in its honor. Lakeland Choral Society will participate by hosting a concert celebrating the music of Polk County since its inception in our October 2011 concert.
